BANGOR, Maine (June 17, 2022) – Acadia Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Courtney Gervais was recently hired as branch manager for their Stillwater Avenue location in Bangor.
In this role, Gervais will supervise overall branch operations while maintaining established credit union policies and procedures. She will also be in charge of member development, oversee member and lending services, and underwrite consumer loans. Gervais comes to Acadia with seven years of experience in member service, management, consumer and commercial lending, and a background in retail sales and counseling, which has helped her quickly connect with members and her team.
“Looking back on my past experience, I can confidently say that I’m in a position that feels right in every way,” said Gervais. “My background in counseling enhances my team coaching skills and ability to motivate, so staff can thrive in a positive environment. Acadia is proving itself to be an employer that values and utilizes my past experience, as I strive to be a useful resource for our team and members. I hope to help build a reputation for the Stillwater branch to be the ‘go-to’ financial institution for most everyone’s financial needs.”
A 2002 graduate of Old Town High School, Gervais worked in retail motorsports for several years and then studied to become a substance abuse counselor, before entering the financial industry in 2015. Feeling like a natural fit in this space, Gervais developed a deep passion for consumer lending and management.
“We are very pleased that Courtney has found her way to us,” said Karen Daigle, Acadia’s VP of Operations. “She loves building relationships with her members and is a very motivated lender. She takes great pride in her work and will play a crucial role in the success of our Stillwater branch.”
Training began for Gervais in mid-April. She became fully-assimilated into her role as Stillwater branch manager in early May, once her predecessor moved to manage Acadia FCU’s Broadway location. Gervais can be reached directly by phone at 207-992-1068 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A native of Greenbush and Old Town’s “French Island,” Gervais resides in Brewer with her husband, Paul, son, Evan, and Kensington — their long-haired chihuahua. She dabbles in small- and large-scale art and enjoys hiking with friends, walking with her husband and dog, and relishes the beauty of Maine coastlines.
