ST. JOHN VALLEY, ASHLAND, and BANGOR, Maine (Aug. 16, 2023) – Acadia Federal Credit Union, with 88 employees and eight branches throughout northern Maine and Bangor, is thrilled to announce that they have been named as one of the 2023 Best Places to Work in Maine.

Several of Acadia’s FCU team recently enjoyed a summer picnic at the home of President / CEO David Desjardins.

This is the second consecutive year that Acadia FCU has earned this designation.

“We are deeply honored to be distinguished as one of Maine’s standout workplaces,” said Acadia FCU Executive Vice President, Joey Cannan. “This accolade not only reflects our team’s dedication but also underscores our relentless commitment to being the employer of choice in Maine. By fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration, we aim to be the beacon for top talent, where aspirations align with opportunities. Our team is our greatest asset and together, we’re committed to creating a brighter future for our members, our employees, and our communities.”

The process to earn this special distinction is managed by the independent research firm, Best Companies Group (BCG), who specialize in identifying and recognizing great employers. The survey competition uses a two-part process, administered by BCG, to determine which companies from across the state will make the list. First, Acadia FCU’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics were evaluated, which was worth approximately 25% of the overall evaluation. Second and most weight-bearing at 75%, all employees of Acadia FCU were surveyed to measure their employee experience.

“The 2023 Best Places to Work in Maine are champions of business who know the importance of a positive, productive work environment. They support their staff members which results in success throughout the entire company,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media for the East Division. “BridgeTower Media is pleased to join the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Best Companies Group in recognizing the achievements of these deserving companies.”

BCG managed the registration and survey process in Maine and also analyzed the data and determined the final rankings. One of the major benefits of participating in the workplace survey was the actionable, hard-to-obtain data that is gathered by BCG during the survey process. This data is a tremendous help when it comes to employee recruitment and retention.
