FORT KENT (Jan. 10, 2019) – Acadia Federal Credit Union recently donated $500 to the Green Bean Ski Club to help purchase new helmets for Fort Kent’s Lonesome Pine Trails ski rental shop.

Acadia FCU’s marketing manager, Alison Voisine, presents a $500 check to Lonesome Pine Trails manager Mike Voisine for the purchase of new ski and snowboard helmets for the LPT rental shop in Fort Kent.

Several helmets needed replacing prior to the 2018-19 season and more helmets were needed to stock LPT’s rental shop inventory, as they routinely ran out. LPT resort manager Mike Voisine reached out to Acadia in hopes of obtaining sponsorship for the new helmets. “Lonesome Pine Trails is greatly appreciative of the generous donation from Acadia FCU,” said Voisine. “We have never had new helmets before. For the last 20-plus years, helmets have been hand-me-downs, with a few that were donated to us. We will finally be fully-stocked and able to offer an extra measure of safety with new helmets for skiers and snowboarders.”

“Acadia is happy to help Lonesome Pine Trails equip themselves to offer ski and snowboard equipment to anyone who is interested in hitting the slopes,” said Alison Voisine, marketing manager for Acadia FCU. “It feels good to help strengthen our communities by supporting youth development, especially so they can enjoy what is probably the Valley’s greatest resource—the outdoors.”

Acadia has sponsored other LPT projects in the past, including the chair lift and more recently, the expansive retaining wall which wraps around the lodge.
