ST. JOHN VALLEY and BANGOR, Maine (Feb. 20, 2020) – As a financial institution invested in their communities and neighbors, Acadia Federal Credit Union periodically offers beneficial programs to their membership.

Acadia FCU is pleased to announce they will award $6,000 in scholarships to area high school seniors.

Three $2,000 scholarships are being offered to graduating Maine seniors who plan to attend college. Acadia FCU believes in the value of education and proudly invests in Maine’s future by offering financial support to students who need it. The three $2,000 awards will allow local high school graduates to offset the cost of college education.

“We are committed to investing in our future by helping area students with the cost of continued education,” said Acadia FCU marketing manager, Alison Voisine. “These scholarships help students gain the knowledge and skills needed to fill local jobs and become contributing members of their communities.”

Maine Class of 2020 high school seniors may refer to Acadia FCU’s eligibility criteria.

The Acadia Federal Credit Union college scholarship is available to current Maine high school seniors who meet ALL of the following criteria: (1) Attend an Aroostook, Piscataquis, or Penobscot County high school; (2) Plan to enroll in a two-year or four-year college or university; and (3) Are an active Acadia FCU member or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are active member(s).

Those who meet the scholarship criteria may complete the application online.  The deadline to apply is May 1, 2020.

This scholarship will help me to start my degree in nutrition to one day become a registered dietitian. I plan on attending University of New Hampshire in Durham. Thank you for your time.

I was wondering as to how I can fill out my SAT scores on the scholarship application, as with my SAT scores, the reading and writing portions are one combined score, not two separate scores.

      Hi Kaitlyn,
We will make a revision to the scholarship application to allow for this. I’ll let you know as soon as the change has been made. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 🙂

        Hi again Kaitlin,
We have updated the scholarship form, so it should be easier for you to complete the SAT portion of the application.

        Thank you!
