Acadia FCU’s Record $103,024 Campaign Benefits Local Hunger Relief Organizations

The 2025 campaign raised a record $103,024.09, surpassing the $100,000 milestone for the first time and exceeding the previous year’s total by more than $22,000. That total includes qualifying in-kind contributions and other hunger-related donations reported to the Maine Credit Union League. After accounting for those non-cash contributions, $98,824.09 in cash was available for distribution to local organizations this year.

Acadia FCU ranked third among all Maine credit unions for total funds raised and second statewide for per-member contributions. Collectively, Maine credit unions raised a record $1,496,116.71 during the 2025 Campaign for Ending Hunger.

• Bangor Area Homeless Shelter (Bangor)
• Brewer Area Food Pantry (Brewer)
• Eastern Maine Area Agency on Aging (Brewer)
• First Assembly of God Food Pantry (Fort Kent)
• Fish River Rural Health Food Shelf (Eagle Lake)
• Greater Fort Kent Ecumenical Food Pantry (Fort Kent)
• Manna Ministries Food Pantry (Bangor)
• MSAD #33 Take Home Program (St. Agatha)
• Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Food Pantry (Madawaska)
• Our Lady of the Valley Parish Food Pantry (St. Agatha)
• Safe Place Food Cupboard (Corinth)
• The Salvation Army (Bangor)
• St. John Vianney Parish Food Pantry (Fort Kent)

The funds will help these organizations provide groceries, emergency food assistance, meals for homebound seniors, student take-home food programs, and other essential services for individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout Acadia FCU’s service area.

Acadia FCU’s Campaign for Ending Hunger is a year-round effort driven by employees, members, local businesses, and community supporters who share a commitment to helping neighbors facing food insecurity. Every dollar distributed remains in the communities the credit union serves, providing direct support to local organizations working to fight hunger close to home.
