Acadia FCU Expands with New Branches in Presque Isle and Brewer

April 3, 2026

PRESQUE ISLE and BREWER, Maine (April 02, 2026) – Acadia Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the opening of two new branch locations in Presque Isle and Brewer, further expanding its commitment to serving communities across Maine.

The new Brewer branch, located at 618 Wilson Street, officially opened on March 9, 2026, while the Presque Isle branch, located at 725 Main Street, opened on March 30, 2026. These additions reflect Acadia’s continued growth and dedication to delivering exceptional member experiences.

Both new branches feature modern, mirrored designs that reflect Acadia’s member-first approach, offering enhanced services, improved accessibility, and welcoming, state-of-the-art environments.

“The opening of our new branches in Presque Isle and Brewer is about more than growth for Acadia,” said Joey Cannan, President and CEO of Acadia FCU. “It is about becoming part of these communities, building relationships, and creating exceptional experiences that enrich lives. We believe there is something special about Acadia, and wherever we go, our goal is to make a meaningful impact. We are proud to bring that commitment to Presque Isle and Brewer.”

The Brewer branch employs seven team members and includes staff relocated from Acadia’s former Stillwater Avenue location in Bangor. That facility has closed as part of a strategic move to a space Acadia now owns, allowing for long-term investment and improvements to better serve members. Acadia continues to serve the Bangor area through its Broadway branch and its location inside Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.

The Presque Isle branch opens with a team of four employees and strengthens Acadia’s presence in Aroostook County, where the credit union was founded in 1963.

Both new branches feature modern, mirrored designs that reflect Acadia’s member-first approach, offering enhanced services, improved accessibility, and welcoming, state-of-the-art environments. Each location also incorporates unique design elements that celebrate local culture, including floor-to-ceiling entrance murals—“This is Brewer” and “This is Presque Isle”—featuring historical imagery from each region.

Inside, members are welcomed by locally inspired artwork, including a Presque Isle mural featuring potato fields photographed by Paul Cyr and a Brewer mural by Thomas Morelli capturing the waterfront at sunset. These elements were thoughtfully chosen to create meaningful connections between the branches and the communities they serve.

Acadia FCU has steadily expanded beyond its roots in the St. John Valley, including its 2017 merger with Eastern Maine Medical Center Federal Credit Union, which established its presence in the Bangor region.

“We’re beyond excited to plant deeper roots in these communities,” Cannan added. “We look forward to helping more members reach their financial goals in spaces that are as forward-thinking and friendly as the people we serve.”

Acadia FCU plans to host open house events at both locations in May, inviting community members to tour the new branches and meet the team.
